Lizard's Sesame Noodles
Last summer our daughter's in-laws made their yearly trip to Philadelphia to spend a day at Sesame Place. This year, they stayed in a beautiful old mansion five minutes from our high school and ten minutes from our home. Needless to say, we spent some quality time with them.
The following recipe is one of the delicious dishes prepared by son-in-law David's cousin, Liz. Please read the whole recipe before you begin.
Cook in salted water:
Combine in cruet or jar
- ½ c. soy sauce
- ½ c. roasted or toasted sesame oil
- 1/3 c. sugar
Mix well and pour the dressing over the noodles. Toss to coat.
Before serving, sprinkle cooled noodles with:
- 4 scallions, white and green parts chopped
- 2 Tbsp. sesame seeds, toasted
Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes:
- Liz thinks she found the recipe in a book called, Kosher by Design, by Susan Fishbein. Add some shredded or chopped (rotisserie) chicken to fill out the dish with protein.
- We must thank Evelyn Shaw, David's mother, for relaying the recipe.
